The Southern California News Group Endorses Robert Luna

The Southern California News Group editorial board wrote: “There are several candidates running to replace Villanueva, most of whom either work for or who have worked for the sheriff’s department. We believe an outsider’s perspective is needed. Accordingly, we think former Long Beach police Chief Robert Luna is the best bet for those seeking a needed shift to normalcy and integrity in the leadership of the sheriff’s department.”

“I’m deeply honored to receive endorsements from the Los Angeles Times and the Southern California News Group newspapers,” Chief Luna said. “These news organizations and their editorial boards are trusted by residents across Los Angeles County, and their powerful endorsements will help spread the word about my campaign to reduce violent crime and restore public trust in the Sheriff’s Department.”
